Discuss With Your Physician The Connection Between Hypothyroidism, Diet, And You

By Dr. Kevin Dobrzynski

You may already recognize a strong connection between hypothyroidism, diet, and you.

Unfortunately the doctor you make an appointment with might not get adequate insight on how you can control hypothyroidism.

To this day, I'm still confused as to why most doctors think there's no connection between your diet and hypothyroidism. Yet when you're struggling with symptoms and weight loss doctors blame your diet, hmm?

Start a discussion of the situation by asking the doctor to explain how the body produces thyroid hormone.

Continue the discussion by asking where your body goes to get iodine and tyrosine. If the answer is not from your diet, you should question your doctor further.

The next question you should ask is... "Where does my body get iodine and tyrosine" The answer, "your diet".

The fact is those are not the only nutrients you require to make thyroid hormone. That is only one example. They are of primary importance, but, copper, zinc, selenium, magnesium, manganese, vitamin A, and B vitamins are also needed to make and then convert thyroid hormone.

Without getting these required nutrients from the food you consume, what other way can you obtain them? Supplements are available. However, no supplements are a good substitute for a poor diet.

Hypothyroidism occurs mainly because of diet and the environment. Stress also plays a role. So, if these three things can cause thyroid problems shouldn't they be included in the treatment?

When the cause of a disease is known, it should then be simple to figure out how to treat it. Modern medicine places the focus on the treatment for the disease rather than investigating what causes it. You may or may not agree with this statement.

Is it true that the body can be healed with the right food? There are many medical and non-medical individuals who believe it is possible.

Again, there are more complex issues with dis-ease of the body and how you can heal the body with food, but it is possible.

This confirms the existence of a specific connection between hypothyroidism and diet and you.

If you eat a healthy diet you will be healthy.
