Importance Of Having Raised Toilet Seats

By Ann Jordan

Everyone wishes to have comfort while engaging in various activities. Additionally, people wish to conveniently be able to do the things they want to do. Every animal has a way of removing waste materials from its body. For instance, water and other mineral salts like urea is removed through the urination and excretion while passing stool is done through various bowel movements. It is important to properly dispose of the waste by having toilets. Water closets are often preferred because of their ability to prevent smell from coming out of toilets. In order to feel comfortable while passing waste, many people prefer having raised toilet seats because of various reasons.

It saves people the agony they have to go through when squatting to pass stool or during urination. People have different health conditions that affect their functioning. For instance, there are those who experience back pains whenever they squat for a long time thus the necessity to have such people desist from squatting. Some may even feel dizzy or have weak legs whenever they squat thus the need to have toilets that have a surface where such people can rest.

It is not easy for water to overflow toilets which have sitting areas because of their height in comparison to toilets with no sitting surface. This protects homes many deficits that may well be experienced if water ended up filling the toilets when they get blocked. These toilets therefore play an essential role of safeguarding various items that can easily be damaged by water.

Accidents do happen any time. However, falling in toilets is one of the most embarrassing moments. Anybody who falls in lowly placed toilets is really prone to harmed. On the other hand, toilets having a sitting surface are made in a fashion that causes it to be nearly impossible to slip in, unless of course someone stands on the sitting surface.

Households and businesses often experience blocked drainage systems as a result of solid waste accumulation. You will definitely find this very uncomfortable due to the odor coming out of such toilets. If the blockage is very severe, anyone trying to flash the waste with water may worsen the situation having the waste spread all over the house. An elevated toilet can help you avoid all that.

Most toilets that have a sitting surface have a lid for covering the contents. This makes them ideal for households that may not have sufficient supply of water since you can cover the awful smell from coming out. Toilets without a resting surface do not have a lid thus can be very annoying since they emit odors when the waste is not flashed.

Toilets that have elevated sitting surfaces often have some water that acts as an air lock. This makes it difficult for bad smell from blocked drainage systems to come out. Households therefore find life bearable irrespective of whether the drainage system is blocked or not. This is a more reliable alternative than using pit latrines and those without a sitting surface.

Toilets that have high seats are ideal for homes and small offices because it is easy to spread skin diseases if shared by many people. Raised toilet seats may sometimes be difficult to clean especially in areas that have limited supply of water. However, they make houses to appear neat and more presentable compared to their low counterparts.
